Grubble Grubble

Ok, this is my first blog for the year and a long way from my last blog. I will admit that I could blog more often. I am not sure if it is laziness that keeps me from blogging or just being worn out after work, rehearsals for 3 different performing groups, or having too much Bush stuff to funnel into what I hope is an interesting, thought-provoking blog.

Given that, I am not going to limit myself today, and I am not going to particularly deal with in-depth substantiation of anything. I just feel like bitching.

rant

The government promised us job growth. They said 150,000 jobs and gave us 1,000. Come on, guys. If you are going to lie, at least try and make it sound close to the truth.

Big business says they have to outsource jobs from America in order to stay competitive. What they don't say is the competition seems to be between the CEO's and other sundry executive officers to see how many people they can put out of work in America before we actually start some form of organized protest. That, and seeing just how big a bonus they can give themselves from the money they save paying poverty wages to the contractors who take those outsourced jobs.

Congressmen (and women): Do me a favor. Quit feeding us a line of shyte about needing H1-B and L1-B visa holders in this country to fill tech shortages. I can give you the home telephone numbers of hundreds of out of work techies who are qualified for the jobs. I don't care what your college buddy the CEO says.

And last but not least, the Shrub. Listen, Georgie boy. At least when Reagan destroyed the economy, he made us feel good about ourselves. If you are going to continue screwing us, at least invest in some Vaseline. My arse is beginning to hurt.
