We have supposedly killed Qusay and Uday Hussein. They are the sons of Saddam Hussein and are terrors in their own right. Just ask any Iraqi Olympian, the boyfriend/husband of a pretty woman, or any dissident in general.
I have a few questions. Why did we kill them in the first place? Why did we whisk them out of Iraq so quickly? Why are we so quick to accept the identification of the bodies by captured members of a criminal regime? Especially the bodies of people who were notorious for using body doubles. We are considering publishing pictures of the bodies to show the Iraqi people.
Are we afraid that someone might debunk the claim of who they are? The timing of the incident is a bit suspicious in the first place. Bush's approval ratings are at an all-time low. Approval of keeping troops in Iraq is at an all-time low, especially amongst family members of the 3rd Infantry.
Experts have noted that we could have easily captured them with one SWAT team. Yet, we hit them with so much firepower that dental records were needed to ID the bodies. Would it not have been a better idea to capture and interrogate them. #2 and # 3 on the most wanted list most certainly would have had information on the much vaunted weapons of mass destruction that we seem to be having so much trouble finding.
This is just one more example of why we, as citizens, need to begin and continue to question this administration as to what they are doing in our names.
